Our Why
Lancaster, one of the oldest cities in Dallas County, officially the first to incorporate, has long felt the impact of white flight, disinvestment, and neglect. Once a thriving small town, much of its land is now dominated by warehouses and industrial use, shaping the economy but not the community’s cultural life.

There used to be art fairs. There used to be festivals. There used to be civic groups & chambers of commerce.
Despite recognition as an All-America City in 2019, Lancaster continues to face underfunded infrastructure, limited cultural outlets, zero art, and one of the lowest voter turnouts in the county. Even so, its diverse, resilient residents are working to restore pride and belonging through culture, beautification, and opportunities that redefine the city’s identity and cultivate community.
Lancaster’s future should be built on creativity, connection, and care, not just concrete. There’s so much to be had in this hidden gem of a neighborhood; join us, a neighborly group of friends, the only arts focused organization in the city!
